Well, if you were hoping the Pittsburgh Steelers would make some big coaching changes, you got your wish. Just kidding but the Steelers did announce their first coaching change of the offseason on Tuesday.

The team announced Gerald Alexander is returning to the team to be the defensive backs coach. Alexander replaces Grady Brown whose contract was not renewed for the 2025 season.

Alexander was the Steelers assistant defensive backs coach in 2022-2023. He left in 2024 to be the safeties coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Alexander was a second-round pick in the 2007 NFL draft. He spent his first three seasons with the Detroit Lions and then moved between the Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets over the next three seasons.

The Steelers ranked 25th in the NFL in passing yards allowed in 2024.
