The Green Bay Packers are headed into another eventful off-season. Three straight off-seasons in a row has seen Green Bay move on from the likes of Davante Adams, Aaron Rodgers, Mason Crosby, David Bakhtiari, and Aaron Jones.
It looks like this off-season could be just as impactful.
“He Isn’t Coming Back” Packers’ RB Josh Jacobs Leaks Release Of Star (Breaking)
According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
Also…Josh Jacobs telling PFT that he wants another DB and Keisean Nixon saying he doesn’t want to return kicks as CB1…the players know Jaire isn’t coming back.
With seven draft picks and $42 million in cap space, the Packers will have the opportunity to make a splash this offseason, whether it is through key departures or acquisitions.
Trading away cornerback Jaire Alexander is one move Green Bay should consider, according numerous outlets.
During the past two seasons, Alexander has appeared in 14 games. He missed six games because of a shoulder injury sustained in Week 8 of 2023 against the Los Angeles Rams. The groin injury Alexander suffered this season led to him missing two games before a knee injury sidelined him for the season.
Against Jacksonville in Week 8, Alexander tore his PCL on the final play. When Alexander missed the following week’s game against Detroit, he tried playing in Chicago. It took him ten snaps for his injury to re-aggravate.
It is undeniable that Alexander is a valuable player when he is healthy. Two-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro second-team selection, he has been a key member of Green Bay’s defense. Last season, Alexander picked off two passes, including a pick-six, bringing his career total to 12.
