Green Bay Packers: Xavier McKinney Saw A Bright Future For This Rookie Despite Subpar 2024 Campaign

Green Bay Packers rookie safety Kitan Oladapo is aiming to make a bigger impact on the team next season after barely playing in his rookie campaign in 2024.

Oladapo, whose didn’t have much opportunities in the first 17 weeks, played a season-high 50 snaps in Green Bay’s Week 18 loss against the Chicago Bears, and the Oregon State product said he will use it as a building block in his budding NFL career.

“It meant a lot to me, just to go out there and play with my teammates. Every week, I go out there, whether it’s special teams or I’m inactive, I’m still cheering on my teammates, wanting my fellow teammates to do good. So it was great to go out there and actually play with them,” Oladapo said via Mike Spofford of Packers.com.

“I’m very much excited. Not going to lie to you. I mean, the sky’s the limit,” he added.

Green Bay Packers’ Xavier McKinney liked Kitan Oladapo’s potential

Kitan Oladapo was hampered by a toe injury to start his NFL career at Green Bay. Because he spent most of the offseason and training camp rehabbing, he was behind fellow safety draft picks Javon Bullard and Evan Williams in the pecking order.

Despite this, the 24-year-old defensive back continued to do his homework and finally got his chance in Week 18, as he was lined up next to Xavier McKinney.

“He was on his details,” McKinney said about Oladapo. “He was in constant communication with me and he played a really good game. He’s growing as a player.”
