In terms of production, Watt had a down year in 2024, racking up 11.5 sacks but cratering during the final month of the season.

While 2024 was a historic year for him, TJ Watt’s performance at the end of the season raised many eyebrows.

He failed to record an assist, a tackle, or a sack in the final 127 snaps of the 2024 season.

Even still, the NFL announced that Watt was one of five players in the running to win the 2024 D.P.O.Y. award, along with Philadelphia Eagles LB Zack Baun, Denver Broncos CB Patrick Surtain II, Cincinnati Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson, and Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns.

Art Rooney Speaks On Trading TJ Watt

The Pittsburgh Steelers had a terrible end to their season, and now reports have surfaced of the team possibly trading star outside linebacker TJ Watt.

Watt, who is entering the last year of his contract, is likely to be extended by the Steelers, but that hasn’t stopped rumors from surfacing.

Team president Art Rooney II spoke on it recently and made it clear that the Steelers have no plans to move their star edge rusher after being asked by KDKA’s Bob Pompeani.

“I’d have to put it in the ‘unlikely’ category. He’s certainly been one of the real, solid pieces we have on that defense. I think he’s the kind of guy we want to have in the locker room going forward,” Rooney said.
