Revisiting Jordan Love’s Highlight Senior Bowl Week As The 2025 Edition Wraps Up

The 2025 Senior Bowl wrapped up this last week. One of the most important sections of the NFL pre-draft process, several stars made their mark during their time in Mobile. As the 2025 edition is now officially finished, let’s revisit how Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love faired during his trip to the Senior Bowl in 2020.

Jordan Love Got Straight to Business During the 2020 Senior Bowl

In the loaded quarterback class of 2020 that included future Pro Bowlers like Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, Justin Herbert, Jalen Hurts, and Love, the latter was one of the hottest topics at the Senior Bowl. Without the surefire top picks taking part, the former Utah State Aggie was one of the most talked-about signal-callers entering the week, along with Herbert. Love had well-defined goals entering the week of practice, knowing what NFL teams were there to see him improve at.

I had some poor decisions this year. I want to show them I can read the field and be decisive, especially in an offense that I am not too familiar with.

He was quick to make an impression on scouts. In the opening days of practice, he had a few opportunities to show off his arm in the one-on-one period, connecting on multiple deep balls to receivers. Additionally, Love demonstrated anticipation on some out-breaking throws, which Packers fans are now used to seeing on Sundays.

In fact, Love was even so bold as to welcome comparisons to Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes, saying that they both had the arm talent and playmaking magic that teams coveted. Another notable development from the Senior Bowl was how well Love got along with the receivers. Future Pittsburgh Steelers draft pick Chase Claypool had kind words to say about Love’s work ethic and competitiveness.

He’s not afraid to push us to go the extra step, whether that’s keeping us grounded or around a little longer to go through some extra reps.

As the week wore on, it was clear Love was the best quarterback on the field besides Herbert. Particularly when coming from a smaller school like Utah State, it was critical that Love made a strong positive impression, and the future Packer did just that.

Senior Bowl Gameday Was Another Big Moment for Jordan Love

Love beat out both Michigan QB Shea Patterson and Washington State QB Anthony Gordon for a spot in the starting lineup for the North team. He played a total of 27 offensive snaps, beginning and finishing out the game. During this, he was 4-6 for 26 yards and had 2 rushes for 7 yards, one of which was a conversion on 4th & 1. Love led his squad to victory and was named Offensive Player of the Week for his team.

Exiting the Senior Bowl, some experts felt that Love had done enough to solidify himself as a first round pick. However, none of them would have been able to predict Love’s landing spot. While the Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, and Jacksonville Jaguars were all discussed in mock drafts, Love of course ended up in Green Bay, much to the chagrin of many fans, experts, and perhaps even some Packers players.

Yet, the move seems to be working out so far. Despite Love demonstrating some inconsistency at certain times, he has had back-to-back solid seasons from a statistical perspective and continues to make plays that few other quarterbacks in the league are able to. He is one of the many young players showing signs of growth, and there’s something to be said about growing together. Love has had the chance to work with plenty of other talented young receivers during his career so far. There’s plenty to be excited about in Green Bay, whose future lies with Love continuing to improve and ascend to one of the top QBs in the league.
