BREAKING: Cowboys’ HC Brian Schottenheimer Backs Dak Prescott 100% – “We’re Gonna Win a Championship!”

Cowboys’ HC Brian Schottenheimer is ALL-IN on his QB “He’s gonna play elite level football. He’s gonna lead us to championships. We got the right guy. We’re gonna win. We’re gonna win a championship,” Schottenheimer said of Dak Prescott.

Speaking in his introductory press conference, Schottenheimer detailed his relationship with Prescott.

The two have worked together for the last two seasons while Schottenheimer served as the Cowboys offensive coordinator.

The offensive duo have already established a solid relationship that the new head coach thinks will serve the team well.

“Iron sharpens iron. Dak and I have an incredible relationship, just like I have an incredible relationship with all these guys,” Schottenheimer said.

“Dak and I know how to push each other’s buttons, we know how to have a hard conversations.

“I laugh because I think about training camp last year, a ball got intercepted and we kind of had a thing in place where it was like if you throw an interception, you come out.

“And so I took Dak out and he’s like, ‘What?’ He pushed back. The competitor in him is special.”

Schottenheimer shared that his relationship with Prescott will have to change due to the nature of his new role.

“There will be tweaks. There’s gonna be changes,” Schottenheimer said.

“But, he’s the type of worker that changes an entire organization, and I think he and I see the game of football offensively very, very similar.

“We’ll have tons of communication moving forward on some of the thoughts we wanna do, whether it’s tempo or, some of the different things we’re trying to do with our play-action passing game, the run game, things like that.

“He’s easy to talk to and love and respect him along with all those guys.”

Schottenheimer has ambitious ideas of what the Cowboys can achieve with Prescott as their quarterback.

Specifically, he believes the team will be winning Super Bowls in the future.

“He’s gonna play elite level football,” Schottenheimer said.

“He’s gonna lead us to championships. We got the right guy.

“We’re gonna win. We’re gonna win a championship.”

Prescott missed most of the 2024 season after undergoing surgery on a torn hamstring.

However, the season prior he showed out as one of the top quarterbacks in the league.

Prescott threw for 4,516 yards and 36 touchdowns in 2023.
