“He’s Ours;” Green Bay Packers Fans React To Coach Suddenly Interviewing For New Job

The Green Bay Packers have already had to replace two coaches on Matt LaFleur‘s staff ahead of the 2025 NFL season. Defensive line coach Jason Rebrovich was fired following the Packers’ poor season performance in terms of generating pressure on opposing quarterbacks in 2024. He was replaced by former New England Patriots defensive coordinator DeMarus Covington.

Quarterbacks coach Tom Clements, the only man in history who worked with Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, and Jordan Love, retired (for the second time) following the season. LaFleur replaced him with Sean Mannion, who had joined his staff as offensive assistant last season.

And now he may be looking for a new offensive coordinator soon.

Green Bay Packers Offensive Coordinator Adam Stenavich Is Interviewing with the Houston Texans

On Friday night, it was reported that Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich is interviewing for the same position with the Houston Texans.

Stenavich previously interviewed for the same position with the Seattle Seahawks and was interviewed by the Chicago Bears during their head coaching search.

The reason why Stenavich is actively trying to find a different position elsewhere is because he wants to call offensive plays. With LaFleur calling plays in Green Bay, the only way he can advance in his career as an NFL coach is to go to a team with a defensive-minded head coach who will give him the keys to the offense.

Stenavich, a Marshfield, Wisconsin native, gained widespread respect throughout the NFL for his work as the Packers’ offensive line coach. When Nathaniel Hackett first left to be the head coach of the Denver Broncos, LaFleur promoted Stenavich so that he would not be poached by other teams.

Now, it may happen anyway.

Packers fans had a mix of reactions to the news:

Looks like Steno wants to start calling plays. https://t.co/A59cOa5wDc

Packers might not be done losing coaches yet… https://t.co/6enxfknjOw

Wouldn’t be surprised if steno bails

He wants to call plays, clearly— and the Packers just grabbed Getsy and stashed him as an “assistant”. https://t.co/QsthzhvXzR

Texans targeting an OL Guru makes a ton of sense after the nightmare with that group we all witnessed this season.

But also f*** off he’s ours. https://t.co/5YOrWSUwks

Stenavich, with his background as an offensive lineman and offensive line coach, makes sense for Houston whose line faltered in 2024. It could end up being a perfect fit for both parties.

If Stenavich does leave, well, LaFleur recently name Luke Getsy as a senior offensive assistant. He would likely be named offensive coordinator in the event the Texans poach Steno.
