Chase Meidroth could quickly find a role
Meidroth moved away from a farm system stocked with middle infield depth and developed enough time in Triple-A to move to the verge of his MLB debut. He very well could be the first of the ex-Red Sox prospect quartet to help the White Sox
“I’m fired up for this opportunity,” Meidroth told CHSN’s Chuck Garfien. “This city’s been awesome. I can’t wait to get going. … It wasn’t much of a surprise. You kind of just be where your feet are and show up every day. Work hard in whatever jersey that is. That’s what I’m going to do.”
Meidroth is an on-base machine and a versatile defender that can play multiple positions around the infield. The Red Sox learned that in his development up to Triple-A Worcester. He posted an on-base percentage over .400 in each of his three seasons in the system and walked 105 times in 2024.
He won’t be the flashiest name as the rebuild goes along for the White Sox, but the former Red Sox product does two things extremely well to stabilize a position for Chicago.
