Potential Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick Emeka Egbuka is declaring for the NFL Draft, he announced on Friday. Egbuka is rated as one of the top wide receivers in the class, and in early mock drafts, the Steelers have been connected to him several times.
Ohio State and Notre Dame players who participated in the National Championship had until Friday to decide if they would leave school and head to the NFL. Egbuka will be the latest in a long line of Ohio State wide receivers to head to the NFL, and he is expected to be land in the 20s come April.
Egbuka is a supremely talented wide receiver who stepped up as Ohio State’s go-to guy alongside star freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.
Egbuka shined in the college football playoffs and only helped his stock rise to that of a mid-first-round pick, which the Steelers hope will get to them this cycle.
The other top wide receivers in the class are Arizona’s Ttetairoa McMillan, Missouri’s Luther Burden, and Texas’s Matthew Golden.
